Getting bike from NZ to South America
Hi
we are looking at travelling SA Sept 22 for a few months and were wondering about the best way to get the bike from NZ to probably Chilli or Argentina. Dont really want to be months without a bike so wondering if anyone had experience with flights and or shipping - interested in the how and the time frames. thanks Erin |
Happy planning.
Flying will be a lot more predictable on its delivery date than shipping - basically bike can leave on the same date as you. With shipping it goes weeks earlier and arrives ?? Chile has a much better reputation for the ease of release of the bike than Argentina. I flew mine Sydney- Santiago (via NZ) in 2018 - process was easy and straight forward. Details are in the shipping database. Sent from my moto g(8) plus using Tapatalk |
Before the pandemic, Air NZ would fly widebodies directly into Buenos Aires, so I think it's just a matter of talking to a freight forwarder and paying the money.

Not the same in various aspects however we shipped our vehicle from South America to Australia and back - 55 days there and 47 days back (drop off to pick up).
