4th Northern HU Mini-Meet

After a great 3rd Meet, what about number 4?

Before Easter I'm free 17/18March and 24/25March.

After Easter I'm free 28/29April, 5/6 May (7th is Bank Hol Monday) and 12/13May.

Maybe at Blakey Ridge again? The publican there seemed to know how to make people feel welcome.

Any comments on dates, venues?

Cheers
Chris

No. 4

Number 4 is an excellent idea but one I can't take you up on because the dates clash with my work.

Jake 26 Jan 2007 17:58

April is probably better for me - after that stuff gets tight with holidays, work load etc etc.

chris 29 Jan 2007 10:58

28/29 April?

In light of Jake's comment, how about 28/29 April? At Blakey?

Comments please.

28/29th april sounds good to me , probably be three of us.Jake if you want me to set it up let me know as Blakey is just up the road. I'll be away 9th March for a few weeks so if those dates suit I could do with feedback from anybody interested fairly soon. cheers Peter

Hiya

Can't do last weekend in April (any other weekends are ok) but will keep an eye on thread. If don't see you all then, hopefully see you all at Derby meet.

Jake 8 Feb 2007 22:38

I will fit in with everyone else if I can - seems like end of march is looking good for most. Pete If you can set it up once a date is agreed that would be great - as I am snowed under (Literally as well as really) with work at this time, as well as one or two things going on with my family etc. Just let me know the dates and I should be there. Jake.

chris 9 Feb 2007 12:53

Jake
You just mentioned late "March" being ok for all. Late April was being discussed above. Or at least I think it was...

All,
Please advised your good/bad dates.

My good dates are: 17/18March, 24/25March, 28/29April, 5/6 May (7th is Bank Hol Monday) and 12/13May.

Cheers
Chris

bonzo 9 Feb 2007 14:21

Debz 12 Feb 2007 07:26

Hi

Best weekends for us are 17/18 March, 24/25 March, or 12/13 May.

Iain & Debz

katee 12 Feb 2007 09:08

Best dates for me are 17/18th March, 24/25th March and 28/29th April.
I'll make it this time!
Kate

Jake 12 Feb 2007 19:59

Looking at the response so far the best date appears to be 24,25 march if we are all agreed should we call that a provisional date and I will contact the pub and sort out a meeting so we all have something definite to work to Jake.

chris 15 Feb 2007 20:45

24/25 March

Hi Jake and everybody
Like you said, 24/25 March seems to be good for most people. I was just speaking to Peter Surtees who originally couldn't make it then, but his plans have changed, so that weekend is ok for him too.

If people haven't made alternative suggestions, maybe it can be assumed that they are fine with whatever is chosen.

So unless there are any last minute objections.... Let's go for 24/25 March (and even Fri 23rd March for all rufty tufty types :cool4: ).

Jake: Will you talk to the pub?

Cheers
Chris

Fritz 16 Feb 2007 13:28

Oh yes

Bev and I should be along too. Happy to lead some off roading (easy) if folk want, over to Whitby for Fish & Chips or Ice Cream depending on weather - know some good long and easy trails over that way. Brilliant location :-)

Please note - those that need beauty sleep - British Summer Time begins on that Sunday :-0

Jake 16 Feb 2007 17:29

I will speak to the pub and check out the dates and numbers are ok with them - I will provisionally suggest between 10 /15 to attend and see how it goes.

Suebacon 16 Feb 2007 19:53

hi to those bikers I met in Flaine and w/e 24/25

To Murray, Aiden and John whom I met in Flaine last week - thanks for the company skiiing. Its a pity that you couldnt stay until the Friday - Blue sky and new snow - like skiing on velvet! If you can come down from Scotland sometime - join us on one of these w/es
Sue

Re w/e 24/25 - there is a very good pub - the Wheatsheaf at Egton, owned and run by friends who are more than willing to see a group of bikers for sandwiches etc - Elaine makes the best BLT ever! So, if you want to go at some point over the w/e just let me know and I shall forewarn her.

Peter and I shall no doubt be able to make it although I have to be at a study day in Bury, Manchester on Sunday pm

Sue

PS Still can't get my photos small enough for the website - help needed. Tried to email them to myself as someone suggested but they are still too big

All on stone - or similar - trails, so shouldn't be too bad - famous first words!

Debz 13 Mar 2007 07:49

We should be there on the Friday (me in afternoon and Iain at night) providing Iain's knee is better (he's been out playing with Brian E.....say no more). See you all soon.

Debz

Jake 17 Mar 2007 22:30

I am afraid it is fairly certain that I will not be able to make this weekend now due to circumstances beyond my control. If things change I will be there but I would be grateful if someone else talks to the publican on arrival and thanks him on our behalf or whatever on leaving - as I would like to keep this venue very much on our side for future meets etc. Hope you all have a good weekend. Sorry Debz cant meet up so it looks like your riding down on your own. Jake.

ukKev 18 Mar 2007 16:04

Should be seting off tomorow as i have to do some training in Heysham Lancashire to do & will be riding over from there Friday . As i wont have internet access im going to PM some of you my mobile number hope this is ok with you. The reason for this is the severe weather warnings snow ect .
If some one could let us know if the meet gets cancelled i would be grateful as i dont want to ride over if no one is going to be there . Will take a slow ride over friday about 11am proably across the dales any suggestions for good routes or places worth seeing ?
Thanks Kev

Jake 19 Mar 2007 01:11

Kev there is areally nice back road from kettlewell (north of skipton)through the coverdale valley- via melmerby this eventualy brings you out at leyburn, ,bedale, northalerton ,thirsk a170 to kirbymoorside then 3 mile further on turn left up through hutton le hole towards castleton pub on left. If I was you i would phone pub before travelling as its very very prone to deep snow being the highest pub on the moor. Jake.

ukKev 19 Mar 2007 09:27

Cheers mate
Just brushed the snow of the bike the roads dont look too bad down here hope the roads are ok up north buy the time i get up there.
Cheers Kev

Fritz 19 Mar 2007 23:21

Anyone (Debz, Iain) possible to confirm with Brian he's happy leading a ride out Saturday as can't garantee I'll be there on bike - in process of sorting a few problems out. Bev and I will definately be there Sat afternoon & eve though. I can pass on details of good easy routes, but only if needs be - if Brians there he knows the area better than me!
Only a bit of snow about this aftie, Bev travels to Nr Scarborough each day so can keep an eye out, works over Moors often - any exciting developements I'll post ;-)

chris 22 Mar 2007 16:11

I'll be there about Saturday lunchtime. Coming in van. I need to deliver one or 2 things.

See you there,

CHris

chris 26 Mar 2007 12:33

Walkabout 26 Aug 2007 22:37

Is there a 5th one in the offing?

Debz 28 Aug 2007 07:43

Hi Dave
A few of us spoke about a 5th one when we were at Ripley and all agreed it was a good idea but unfortunately haven't really been able to make many plans due to a house move which we thought would've happened by now but hasn't!! Anyway, I digress, let's start a new thread and get the ball rolling.

Debz
