Hi
A friend and I are happy to lead a days trail riding around the Yorkshire Dales . Depending on numbers and experience we could split into 2 groups . One for those that have ridden off road before and another group for anyone who maybe wanting to try it for the first time or just have a leisurely days ride :) . Roads tyres will be OK if it's dry and if it as been wet the sloppy parts can be bypassed for those with road tyres. Both ride outs will have plenty of photo stops and Tea and Dinner stops. Our aim is to give everyone a pleasant days trail riding and all get back to the site ready for Paul and Maira's curry feast . Dazzer |

Hi Paul
I'll arrive mid-afternoon on Saturday, hopefully in time for Bernard's presentation, the curry and the intellectual chitchat that always occurs at such events :thumbup1: Looking forward to it. |
This was a super nice weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it! Good people, interesting and surprising presentations and the fooooood.... There was something for everybody; you could go out with the ride outs or walk into the village and have a look around. Good biking area with lots of bends and great views. Wonder woman Maria cooked a curry Lamb which in 9! different ways and had 7 angels to help serving the food.
Paul, Maria, Thanks very much for spoiling us rotten and put up this event and to everybody who wasn't there; this is to good to miss! Andy and Maya. |
As said this was a super meet fantastic people food was spot on presentations interesting even the sun came out. One on the list for next year.
thank you Paul & Maria for making us welcome:thumbup1: |
After the Curried lamb meat !
We had a good turn out with great folks (as usual)for our Mini HU meet this weekend. The weather was fairly kind and we kicked the weekend off with a showing of Sjaak Lukassen's epic R1 extreme DVD. I was volunteered to go and fetch the fish and chips in the car before an impromptu but excellent presentation by our good friend "Road-to-Manchester" (Pete)
Saturday morning and after a breakfast butty and a brew the drizzle didn't put riders off for an off road route lead by Dazzer and a 120 mile bimble through the pennines lead by myself. Our first port of call was to Danny Taylors, Haggs Bank bunkhouse where the exquisite Cathy plied us with coffee and biscuits before heading off to Hartside for lunch. We tackled the twisties down toward Penrith heading for Ullswater and Lowther castle before our next stop at the Orton chocolate factory, Ah! see you wish you had come now don't you! A quick ride home and my wonderful Maria and her friends were busy cooking a staggering amount of curry dishes for our 50 or so guests. The sun was shining and so a swift change of plan moved our first presentation of the night to 8pm to allow people to enjoy the evening glow. Curry at 7pm with second and third helpings before Iain & Debbie the sidecar Vagabonds presented us with a fantastic joint effort photographic feast journeying through Georgia, Russia and Mongolia. Following this we had Bernard Smith with "touching the world" a fantastic presentation which followed Bernard and his late beloved Cathy's trip around the world, a truly magnificent tale which more than touched the world! In the meantime Andy (Freewheel) was stoking the bonfire. Sunday morning, more Bacon butties and people were sadly leaving, Maria and I had a brilliant if not tiring weekend in the company of wonderful, entertaining and knowledgeable people, thank you all for coming and making this event a success. :thumbup1: |
You all seem to have had a great weekend. Sorry Mike & I had to miss it all at the last minute. Hopefully next year.

Paul + Maria, thank you both so much for hosting a fab event! Next time I'll make sure I make it for both nights. The meal dished up on Saturday night was delicious too.
Great site and was absolutely thrilled to be treated to an aerial display by the parrots before we left - stunning! As always, great to speak to so many friends - old and new. Hope to see you all again soon. Debz |
