Kent mini meet
 

Ive been thinking of organising a weekend kent mini meet after going to a northern mini meet & wondered how many would be interested .I know a few pubs that are used to bikers & dont mind camping or i could always use my house(dont expect it to be posh) which has 3 spare bed rooms 2 small gardens for tents & a old 3 birth caravan & is within crawling distance of 3 pubs (i seem to remember reading the 1st UK HU meets were at some ones house). If i could get some feed back of who (if any) would be interested & any activities people might be interested in it would be helpful . Mite be able to get some one to organise a off road (greenlane) ride or could organise a road ride round kent or sussex or could just sit around talk & meet people with the same interests its up to you. Also which dates would be good for people.

Sounds fun. depending on the dates I'd be up for a quick hop across the channel to meet up. I can fill my panniers with beer and be in Ashford in about 3 hours from where I live :thumbup1:
I've got a lot going on in the coming weekends so just let me know when and I can confirm if I can make it. If it's really in the winter , are there any B&B's in the neighbourhood . Camping in the cold and wet isn't something I generally look forward to .... must be getting old :cool4:

If those who are interested in coming let me know what date's are good for them i will try to fit it around them . Depending on how many want to come if its at a pub i will try to find out about B&Bs close by if its at my place people can use my 3 spare rooms & even the sofas at a push (just bring a sleeping bag) or the old caravan in the garden . I have room for about 7 small 2 man tents in the front & back postage stamp size gardens at a push 8 (but that will mean no room for us to do Yoga Gecko LOL) . B&Bs in Ashford should not be a problem . People can use my kitchen & toilets (even my bathroom if they are feeling brave) like i say my place isnt posh & you might end up sharing a room with the odd bike part or 10. Anyway if people can get back to me i wll try & sort out some dates as i have to work some weekends myself .

Hi Kev,

colin from Bournemouth you can put me down for a weekend away. Most weekends are good for me, you can tell us all about your trip to the mountains looking for little disc's.

and it would be good to say hello to Geko again, we meet at the Tesh rally about two years ago. You may remmber me Geko I rode part way home with you on the lanes a chap on his BMW I think from Germany and me on my TT600R.

Any way good luck with the organising Kev, and hopefully we will catch up in the near future.

Coliln , nice to hear from you - I remember that run back from Tesch very well. We hit lucky with a few real nice trails that day in the sunshine :thumbup1: I recall walking through a water section and then having you blast through giving me a good soaking !!!!:mchappy:

Ok i will see if i get any more feed back if not i will go with that date . As the numbers look quite small i will probably put it on at my place as theres less work involed . I will try to comfirm the dates next week as i have to make sure im not working also. Looked at Bill & Becs website & was impressed & am looking forward to hopefully meeting both of you . I see this as more of a small gathering of friends some i know & some i have yet to meet . As its at my place if people want to Sleep in the house then thats ok . If folkes who are coming could let me know like i said theres 3 spair bed rooms 2 doubles & 1 twin plus 2 sofas & the caravan just bring sleeping bags or you can put a tent in the garden . If you can let me how many of you are staying it would also be handy. Or theres always B&Bs .

Hi Kev,Well I told the wife that I may be away that weekend and shee went mad, she has booked that week off work and wants to goway for the weekend.I didsay a weekend in Kent would be nice, a friend of mine has a caravan we could use, this went down like a lead ballon. If you took your wife for a romantic weekend in my caravan i think a divorce would be on the cards its not much but its better than a tent (just) i could make up a spare room in the house if you like but if your wife is not into the bike/travel thing in a big way i dont think she would have much fun . But be warned my house is alot like a 80s biker house only without the skulls & jossticks .(NOT POSH)

I'm new to going travelling on a bike although not new to seeing the world. currently have a ZX6R and an old Zephyr but that's about to change as a get a Vstrom and go for a monster tour of europe next year.
I live the right side of london to get to Kent...would be nice to meet folk with same interests although I might ask too many questions :mchappy:
Um - no tent - but I'll come on my bike of course. If you go off road then I can sleep of the hangover so no probs there....

Olly your most welcome to come & ask as many questions as you want. It looks like it will be a very small meeting so i might just make it an afternoon & night down the pub unless anyone wants more ? Your welcome to crash at my place just bring a slleeping bag . It dosnt look like we will have hardly any off road bikes turning up also with the current Blue Tongue outbreak not sure which lane might be open so i might put the off roading off to next time unless anyone wants it ? So at the moment it looks like arrive some time Saturday & go home Sunday . Maybe i should call it a micro meet ? If people want to come on Friday then let me know & i will sort somthing .

Lets face it it dosnt look like its going to happen . So im going to knock it on the head . Anyone who feels like comming down for a beer Saturday night is welcome to stay at my place just send me a PM with your phone number & i will get in touch with you . Cant blame Whishfull Traveller my place is not much of a venue for a romantic weekend. Thanks for the feedback every one . I will try to sort somthing out for next year . I went to a northern mini early on in the year & had a good time & met some old friends & made some new ones. It was at a pub high on the Yorkshire Moors & we had to melt snow to make a brew in the morning the weather wasnt great but we still had a good time . If folk can think what they would like from a Southern/Kent Mini meet & what time of year then let me know if i can i will try & sort some thing out. Or maybe just a meet up at a pub or cafe for a few hours . Any way let me know & i will see what i can sort out .

Sorry the mini meet did not happen, dont be down harted the thought was there and the next time you try and get it off the ground I bet it will take off.

May be look towards to begining of the biking calander to arrange the meeting and I will talk to the boys who meet up around here to see if we can get a few intrested.

Any way all the best and if you are ever in the dorset area let me know before hand and we can meet up for a coffee.
