Ripley: bring your Morocco maps for 'Hidden Morocco: Get off the Beaten Track'
I've offered to repeat last year's introduction talk (Morocco: Safe, Exciting and Inexpensive) if there's demand, but my main presentation this year will be Hidden Morocco: Get off the Beaten Track
I've spent nearly four months this year in north Africa and have logged more than 1200 miles of previously uncharted roads and tracks for the Maroc Topo GPS map project. Too many people stick to the red 'national' roads in Morocco and are missing the real attraction of seeing a way of life that is fast disappearing. Come to the presentation and find out about beautiful and friendly towns, wildlife, forests, springs, volcanos and mountains, on both roads and tracks. It would be helpful if you have a copy of Michelin 742 map, however I will also be providing a weblink to a set of waypoints and routes for attendees to download after the event. Tim |
Hi Tim,
right now I'm headed to Morocco next week, do you suggest me to travel with a paper map or a GPS ? Right now I have a Becker GPS, a nice piece of cr*p, can be useful to change it ? |
Maps are fine. GPS is useful for offroad or unusual places. Check out the knowledgebase in my signature.
