1991 KLR 250 Rear wheel assembly questions
Hello Kawasaki lovers
So I have a few questions regarding the rear wheel assembly. My friend owns the KLR 250 1991 here in the south of Portugal. Recently she put the bike in to a mechanic to simply replace the rear brake shoes. A few hundred km later she asked me to look at the bike because the bikes making a funny noise. From what I can see, the so called mechanic has left out the left hand side wheel spacer resulting in the sprocket nuts and sprocket carrier eating away at the swing arm in a major way. As well as that, there is nothing left of the sprocket carrier bearings..........well, apart from some tinny bits of metal lol. So as I need to get another swing arm I want to know if there are any changes to the swing arm throughout the years the 250 was made. Do all years have the same swing arm? My second question is what does the spacer im missing look like? Ive got an exploded diagram of the assembly of the rear wheel and Im sure I know the part im missing. |
Klr250 swing arm
JamesC,
I have a 2004 US KLR250 and a 1990 CDN KLR250 parts bike. I believe that all parts are swapable. I haven't tried to exchange the swing arm though. I have exchanged both the front and rear wheels. All the bearings and spacers are the same. Are you asking about spacer 92027B? It looks like it does in the drawing. It also looks a lot like 92027 but somewhat shorter. If you need a picture of it I could take the back wheel off my bike and get one for you. |
