Any decent Kawasaki guys in Mexcio?
Me again, with yet another problem with my KLR.
Sorted out the suspension. Think I've sorted the high use of oil - stuck thermostat valve. But now it's not running too well when you give it some, i.e. overtaking or taking off from yet another tope. I've been told its the clutch slipping but it doesn't 'race' as such and I really don't know. I'm getting fed up with the local mechanics not really knowing much about the bike (i know more about the KLR now than most of them put together - which doesn't say much) and everytime someone looks at it, it's fine for a while and then ends up worse than before. So does anyone know a Mechanic somewhere in Mexcio that I can trust. I've got a long way to go still on this adventure and want to enjoy the ride rather than worrying about what little dusty backwater pueblo I'm going to get stuck in when I break down again. Thanks guys, Michelle p.s. if you are in Campeche looking for a part for a Kawasaki, go to the Suzuki guys, they at least try to look interested and were actually helpful, unlike the Kawaski dealer who just scoffed at the idea of wanting a part for anything bigger than a 250cc. |
If you still have much time left, my recommendation is to ride to the US, about 2 days away, get it fixed right...then feel good about the bike.

I already sent you an email. A lot will depend on where you are. If you are near Mexico City I can put you up and get the bike fixed as best as possible. I put my contact details in the email so give me a call if you think I can help you out.
I have a place you can work at if you want to work on the bike yourself and several tools. Good luck |
