Front sprocket nut stuck!
Is it a reverse thread?

It doesn't mention anything in the manual about being a reverse thread on the sprocket. Have you unlocked the tab on the washer?
I think Mollrick replaced his a few days ago you could possibly PM him for some info. |
I did the bendy tab but I can't get it to budge. I'll pm Mollrick and see what he has to say.

The front sprocket nut can actually be a PITA to get loose (I know as I changed the front sprocket last week). I had to get "pipe" to increase the torque to actually get it loose; I was first afraid to break the threads, but it worked like a charm! /Mollrik |

Thanks. One more thing - the front sprocket nut on my KLE is stepped, so it looks like I could use a choice of two sockets. Did you use a big or small one? Cheers. |

Stepped? Can't remember that my front sprocket were "stepped"; I just plugged it in, with the "flat" side towards the engine, not sure if this will help you, but cannot give you an other answer edit: Wait, I missread you! Quite sure I used the big one, but I am not 100% certain though (more like 90%) /Mollrik |
Best to use a compressor gun thingy with the bolt socket to remove it. A Kawa dealer in Quito once had the shop security guard bounce up and down on a 3ft long spanner and it still didn't come off. Another shop with the right gear (ie a compressor) had the bolt off in seconds.

Yep! had the same thing in Bariloche. The honda guys there got it off. First tried with a long pipe on the wrech, nothing. Then the neumatic compressor tool, stilll nothing!. Then came the hammer thing combined with the pipe and wrench and then it came off. Just don't tighten it up too much when you put the next pinon on... it'll be held in place by the bend washer anyway.
