Greetings and KLE/GPZ engine swap
Greetings from South Africa and howzit aan julle wat heer bly.
I found you guys from a post over on ADVrider where i sit quietly in the corner . I can pick up a 92 KLE 500 with a knackered piston for R8000 or +- 750 euro and a GPZ 550 motor for less than half that. I can turn a spanner (badly) but I also know some guys who are way handy and would gladly gelp do this swap. 1 Should I swap out the entire motor if the GPZ is suitable or should I just swap out the head barrel and piston if this can be done. If I swap out the motor I can rebuild it and improve its state of tune (sensibly or not) and have it as a spare or as a donor for a different frame perhaps. I have searched and read anything that i can find for hours but nowhere have I found this specific pairing. Any info or links would be great. 2 OR should i just say bunty-collacks and find a bit more money for a bike that runs as you will see its late and I be on the go for 20 hours already so I will grab a few hoursof sleep and sign off now Cheers Mike |
Ooops!!!!
I guess that this just goes to prove how ones mind goes as one gets older. The GPZ 550 is a four cylinder so i guess that stuffs that one up.
So now i need to find a 500 motor Sorry for wasting eveybodies time :oops2: |
