KLE 500 17" front wheel
Good day,
this is my first post on this forum I decided after 20 years to drive a bike again and got 1 KLE500 from 92. I would like to change the actual 21" fron wheel with a 17". As I would like to avoid major changes does anybody know if any other bike have a f.w which is compatible and can be easily used on a kle without having to change the disk brake or fork ect... thks |
Pretty sure you will have no luck, the stock forks and discs are very odd - I know I was searching everywhere for parts that fit. Easiest is just buy a 3.5" 17 excel rim and get it laced up that way you will have same everything.
Another option is to fit another frontend - a klx250 front end as they have reduced travel (but about 2" more than the stock fork) and if your lucky you may find the SM one with the 17". You just press the head-stem out and press in the original kle one as they have the same diameters. Even better source a road bike front end of ebay and do the same for better brakes and handling. But both alt frontend options are way more $$ than just re lacing the stock hub. |
Thanks for your reply Jimmy101 ! indeed this is a good idea to re lace a new rim !
