KLE chain & sprockets
My mate bought a chain for his transalp and it's too short, so I was thinking of buying it off him. Question is - are all chains the same? It's a DID X-ring 525, but the KLE manual suggests DID520VL2 (what does V2L mean?). I know there is a difference in the widths of the 520 and 525s, but is that just bulk or is it actual fitting.
Also, how many links would I need if I change to a 46T rear and stay with the stock front sprocket. As always, thanks in advance. |
I don't know if it can help you, but I just bought a chain from my local dealer and it's a DID 520-116L (roller chain, not Or ring)
I haven't mounted yet, so I am not sure it fits, but I let you know |
You'll have to knock a few links off that chain.
A good tip someone from here gave me – if you're doing the job on your own and you're having difficulty getting the front sprocket off (i.e. keeping a foot on the brake while trying to crack the nut on the opposite side), jam a spanner in the rear sprocket to stop the wheel from moving. |
