Its as cold as a witches tit up here, I hope you have thick underpants!

flipperboy 20 Dec 2007 12:37

Thankfully i break up for two weeks tommorrow, but i will only get to ride to my sisters in Warrington then back to Nottingham for xmas.

I rode up there last xmas eve, I went over the top of the Peak district, the cat and fiddle road, the fog was so thick at one point i couldn't see the dials on the dash.

I won't risk that again in winter, i'll just have to go the long way round. I will say this though, i love riding in any weather, snow, hail anything.

Myself and my best mate Dylan have both been london cylce couriers in the past , which meant cycling 100 miles a day in any weather.we have also cycled 3700 miles across the United States on our mountain bikes and across Europe, so this adventure mortorbike lark seems like luxury at times.

I love love the fact you can carry so much more on a motorbike, weight is not so much of an issue as it is on push bikes.

Anything on two wheels inspires adventure.

royzx7r 20 Dec 2007 16:36

Many happy times in Warrington, I used to drive buses there and had a great laugh.

Like you, I used to live on my push bike and would be out in any weather. I used to race for StHelens CRC, Great days.

Im too used to comfort now though (As I chomp on yet another toffee).

Ive just bought a new racing bike with the hope I can get some sort of fitness back (Chomp!).....again!.

No, serious....

Love it! :thumbup1:

Will that be traded in for an adventure model or, maybe, a dual sport when your fitness has returned?

Kidding of course: I am sticking with a cheap mountain bike for now; I posted earlier about push-bikes for travel but they cost more than a decent second hand motorbike!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes2:

Iceland

When are you planning Iceland Matt ?? or have you maybe been here all ready ??

I have an KLE just like yours and I am in the process of installing panniers that I used on a Transalp before I got the the KLE. Requires a bit of mods to the old racks so I am quite interested in pictures of yours if you have some ? Same if you have already done Iceland, then I am interested in your trip and story. If not, you and others are welcome to contact me if I can be of any help up here in Iceland.

Best regards, Henry

hi roy
let me know when u fancy a run .
it looks like u have your top box set back on your rack.
i just got luggage racks on my bike yesterday and have to change how i put top box back on .
what make of box is yours as it looks like the 1 i have.
do u know if they do a headlight cover for our bike as a stone hit mine the other day no mark thank god.

royzx7r 16 Jan 2008 23:20

Hi Neil,

The topbox is a Kappa K28 (28ltr) which will hold quite a bit for a small box.

Kappa Hard Luggage - FREE UK DELIVERY

Im not aware of any headlight covers for the kle as of yet, mabey there is one for the z750 which has a similar headlight and may be modded to suit.

Like I said in an earlier post, The new z1000 has clear indicator lenses which will fit ours. So it mabey a case of looking whats about for other kwaks and making them fit.

Im just about to see if I can arrange some time off to go to this years HU in derbyshire.

Roy:thumbup1:

P.S Ive sent you a PM.
