do u know if they do a headlight cover for our bike as a stone hit mine the other day no mark thank god.

Hi Guy's, If you want to take a pillion the top box needs to be set back a little or your passenger will be a bit closer than you may like! "kelly Brook" not included:innocent::thumbup1: mine is set back roughly the same as yours, need to get some side rails sorted for mine to stop the bungys holding me soft panniers on from frying on the exhaust:oops2:

Just a quick update on the headlight protector, It arrived broken in half so I contacted Motohaus and they sent me another by next day recorded.

The second one came this morning...yes it was broken too.

The problem is, they have only sent them in Jiffy bags and are getting broken during delivery. I contacted Motohaus this morning and in credit to them, They were very helpful but had no more in stock and would have to order more from there suppliers.

So, If you plan to order one of these..make sure you ask for it to be boxed.

Also, the protector looks very nice and would do the job. The package it comes in says its for the z1000(zr1000 a1) 2003.

So I would advise you folks to have a shop round to see if you can find one cheaper under the z1000 listing.

Cheers
Roy

KLE - Black and Grey

Hey,

I love my KLE, I have done about 13,500 km in the last 2 years. I have put better tyers on and put the "speny" up a noch at the back for a better position and I have some soft panniers for the missions. I tried to put some better hand guards and found that my kle bars were not hollow so the Accerzbid whatevers would not go on. Also looked like the windscreen could get smashed from them if the bike went over coz they stuck out so much further. I will maybe get some wider bars sorted eventually.

Its a great bike.. especially when your on the motor way and it cuts out on you when you have to switch over to the reserve tank, haha. Thats always fun.

I need to get my chain sorted its V dirty and jammed in parts from all the dust! I want to clean it or even replace it. Does anyone have recommendation for the spray grease that I have been using? Is it good or is chain lube / oil necessary?

Cheers,

Cardy (Yorkshire)

Great pic Althasaur and a great use of KLE. I wonder whether it was shot from a chopper?

This is my first post. But instead of giving detailed background info, I prefer posting a couple of pics. Perhaps I might introduce myself later.

Some tough riding back in the old days.

Nah Mate, Photo was taken by a friend when going around a corner.
Even my Dad said I make the bike look small :)
Have to love this sign.

Attachment 1692Hi from sunny ZA

I am currently the owner of my second KLE500. The first pic is of my 1991 KLE500. Got it second hand with 20000km on and put on just over 20000km. Bike had K&N type pod filters, open Gianelli pipe, ported and 0.5mm oversized sleeve. Felt significantly more powerful than my current 2006 KLE500. Unfortunately I found out the motor was damaged before I got her, resulting in a top end disaster.

Replaced the bike with a 2006 KLE500 (second pic). Feels underpowered compared to the old one. Have to replace the restrictive pipe. Fitted an Aerotrim (aerotrim.co.za - About Us) this weekend - only did low speed gravel riding <110 km/h, so have not checked whether it helps for buffeting I've been experiencing with a pilion on at speeds >130km/h. The old KLE was no problem beyond 150km/h, without a screen. Anyone else experience buffeting problems?

Nice pics Ian, question, Did you fit those handguards on the standard bars or did you change the bars also?.
