KLE500 Fog Lights
Hi
Here are some pics of the foglights installed on my bike The lights are Hella Micro DE halogen lights which cost about £80 from demon tweeks (Xenon driving lamp ones are also available) The switch supplied is for a car so i'll replace it eventually. http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/15...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb51.webshots.com/43...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb41.webshots.com/30...600x600Q85.jpg http://inlinethumb36.webshots.com/44...600x600Q85.jpg |
They look really good, take it they don't add much width to the bike where you've tucked them into to the body.

Thanks
The Lights only stick out about 1-2" further than the indicators, so they are well in from the end of the handlebars |

hi
did your lights have the brackets to fit your crash bars in the pack. are they easy to fit and how bright are they as i was thinking of getting some nmc |
I had to buy 2 mirror mounts to clamp to bars like these
Google Image Result for http://www.4-motorcycles.co.uk/acatalog/MRUMNT01.jpg (3rd pic) Then put an M8 bolt through the mounts M10 thread (£4.50 for 2 fine pitch allen bolts no thanks) I also drilled a hole in the supplied bracket which lined up with the outer small clamp bolt this makes them easier to adjust left + right They come with 55W bulbs so they are quite bright but the lense means the beam is low and wide which is great for dark country roads The hardest parts of fitting was routing the wires as the side panels don't come off that far with the crash bars on as for wiring i found it easy (AS Level Electronics) no need for the diagram but this could be different for you. Just use the spare 10A fuse in the box to power a relay (like me) or get power directly from the Fuse either way the can't be switched without the ignition on |

On the kle if you remove the main plastic connector from the fuse box you will notice that 2 of the terminals have no connector installed in order to use the 10A or 30A spare fuse you need to install a standard 6.3mm crimp-on connector in to one of the empty terminals Left=10A Right=30A. I would use the 10A as i'm not sure if the 30A is switched or permanently live Hope this helps |
RING Luminator 3 fog lamps
Hi.
Just thoughts that this information might be of some use, Hafords do the RING luminator 3 fog lamps that are only 75mm dia and about £30 a pair, I have just fitted one to my KLE and one is going on the other bike, though I have modified it to 35W HID light and comparing it to the 55W standard fog light it’s a big improvement. I was planning to have HID main light but found that the beam pattern and start up delay was annoying, though I do have HID on the dipped beam which is very good and only draws 3.5 amps. I am not sure if the Hella Micro DE halogen lights have a better beam than the RING but as they were cheep I thought I would give them a try. Still its just another option. Cheers John |
