KLE500 high front mudguard

Hi all,

I've had my '05 KLE for a few months now and so far it's been great. Got tired of bikes like GSXR and ZXR which were the previous two bikes I had.

I've already raised the front mudguard a bit with a piece of sheet metal. I'd still like to have a real high one, motorcross style. I've seen this done (pictures that is) to older models, but has someone done it to this later model?

As far as I have seen, shops around here don't have that many mudguards in stock, so I can't just go and test bunch them if they fit.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would be interested too. Could you please post a pic of your current mudguard? How far did you move it?

Saw one just today

look for a HUBB thread "Kawasaki KLE manual". Kumuya has a pic of his one on there.

My KLE is an 06 model and i seem to recall the front guard includes a fork brace of sorts. If you're only looking to get an inch or two more clearance it would be simple enough to make a couple of extension plates to raise the existing steel bracket/brace. Just be careful of where the guard meets the radiator.

I moved it only about 1 cm (approx. 3/8"). Just enough to get room for a studded tyre (enduro spikes) that I had on it this winter (lots of fun btw :mchappy:). So picture of it would look pretty much like stock version.

If I remember right this '05 model didn't have any braces inside the guard.
I have all the clearance I actually need with the plates I made, this modification would be mostly for looks...

And the Kumuyas pics, despite that they are exactly what I want, are of the older model with different nose, so as far as I've understood, those don't apply to this later version. As this later model has the nose pointing more down and extends longer (I think).

Hi,

I mounted my mudguard using one hole in (i don't know how is called in english) those things that keep the fork - one is on the down part of the frame where you have the steering ax. Is just under headlight.
Attachment 1192 on this part I managed to attach mudguard.

Hope that it helps

Yesterday when I assembled all plastic parts on my bike I looked at my mud guard because I forgot the exact assembly trick made on it.

So on mudguard is attached an L shape aluminum with some rubber spacers (without them it will be friction between mudguard and nose) and on that piece posted on my last post is from factory a place for one screw (between forks) and is attached there :cool4:

Good luck
