Kle500 running on 1 cylinder

Hello kwaka bike guru's. My kle500 which I use for commuting here in the uk has developed a fault in that it is now running on one cylinder. Started it Monday morning with choke and ran as good as usual took choke half way off now it runs really rough as though only on one cylinder. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check first?
Thanks in advance. Yankinuk

Start with checking and replacing your spark plugs. Same happened to me at the beginning of this year. If that doesn't do the trick than you could have a bad spark plug cap or the ignition coil is dead.

Thanks for that madm. I checked both spark plugs and both spark fine. I am going to pull the valve cover off next to see if there are any problems ubder there. Apart from this problem my kle500 has ran perfectly.

Spark plug caps are notoriusly bad on KLE. If they are old, sparks can jump through the cap and onto cylinder wall instead of going to the spark plug. Check and replace if necessary.

had a similar problem on mine, was the coil. was breaking down under load, when sat at the side of the bike, seemed to work fine.

Hi there. This post is a bit old now, but I had the same problem, I traced it to a corroded wire to the ignitor module.
