raising front mud guard
I have 1995 KLE 500 I wish to raise the front mud guard as mud keeps getting packed under it and jamming the front wheel any tips would be appreciated,I also wish to fit a rim lock to the rear tyre so I can run lower pressure ,is this as simple as drilling the rim and fitting rim lock ?

Ive gone for a cheap fix for now using two stainless plates ,it has raised the mud guard by two inches ,I hope this is enough to stop mud packing and give clearance for tkc 80 knobbly s

I made a plate with 6 holes:
4 in a square for the mudguard bolts 1 central hole a a rawl bolt that goes inside the stem 1 for an L shaped bracket which also attaches to the lower yoke where the cable guide mounts Sort of like this then use spacers to adjust height and angle (Ignore the dashes) O-------O ---O-----------O O-------O |

Thankyou that is a great idea :thumbup1: |
I like the idea of rising the guard just a bit, it will prevent the radiator from being clogged with mud. That's exactly what I planned to do, so it's good to know it's doable and works fine :)

I want to do the opposite on a DRZ for road use. Anyone know which "Big Trailies" have 21" front wheel so I can try to source a mudguard to use ?
