950: is it 40kg + £2,500 better than a 640?
Where did all that weight come from?
It's a lot to pay for one more cyclinder and a smaller fuel range. what do you think? |
Yes right!
Lc8 is too heavy to forest trips and battery is in this machine too low! What with deep water? What with mud? Do you see the color of this orange version? Orange metalic!!! Sic!! This is nail style.... sorry girls.... This is true but it was a little joke...sorry. [This message has been edited by Shelton (edited 22 April 2003).] |
hi guys
imho the lc8 should be compared to the af.twin, super ten, twin gs (various) and the like. the lc4 is in a similar league to the xr400-600-650/xt600/f650/dr650/klr650. having seen the lc8 in real life, it looks 'nice', has lots of plastic bits, is very tall... but shouldn't necessarily be compared to the lc4. i'm told the battery (on the lc8) is down low for weight reasons and is apparently insulated well against the elements. the lc8 is not my style (but if someone gave me one for free, i wouldn't say no!!). as it's a new bike, i'd also wait a couple of years for others to find the teething problems (that all new vehicles have) before i would buy one http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif cheers ChrisB |
It would be interesting to know what % KTM expects to sell to existing KTM owners and what to other owners.
I rode the orange one on Saturday. Wow, it was fun and fast but I wouldn't like to have to pick it up very often. The front end was a bit vague which apparently the silver one doesn't do. The engine's very free revving and with a 'proper' pair of pipes would make a lovely noise. Oh Shit. ------------------ Jerome http://www.fowb.co.uk |
