Anyone got a 690 fuel tank they want to sell ?
I have just brought a 2012 KTM 690.
The rear rack had cracked then come apart on a long tour and had to be cut off with a hacksaw. To cut a long story short there are three bolt threads now protruding from the fixings on the tank. When i tried to remove them with an extraction tool the threaded metal inserts which they screw into just turned around. So if anyone has a tank for sale i would be keen to talk to them. I know i could get all Mcgyver on it but i would prefer to fit a factory made part if i can. I am based in the UK but would be prepared to do a deal with anyone regardless, even the french !!! Thanks for taking the time to read my post. No Fromage |
There's one for sale on ebay Germany. Its from a 690SMC but they are all the same AFAIK.

Part numbers ?
I have found various KTM 690 tanks however they are all pre 2011 and have the part number 7650701304433A
Mine is a 2012 and has the part number 7560701314433A The only difference is the 9th numerical which is a 0 in all models pre 2010 and a 1 in all models 2011-2013. in all models 2013 onward it is a 2 I know they are obviously different in some way but does anyone have any experience of trying to fit an older tank to a newer model who can tell me if it will fit and what the differences are ? Might be worth speaking to John Mitchinson at Rally Raid who produces a whole range of 690 Rally parts, he's very knowledgeable about the differences across the model years.

Thanks for taking the time to get back to me on this issue. I am going to have a crack at McGyvering it this weekend and if that fails i will give him a shout. Many thanks No Fromage :thumbup1: |
Just saw this now so probably too late, but I've got a 690 Enduro/SMC rear tank I'd sell if you still need it.
Send me a PM. Cheers, Lukas |
