Do you get a KTM tool kit?
Do you know if you are meant to get a KTM basic tool kit when you buy a new 640 Adventurer?
The manual reffers to an oil filler pipe that is in the tool kit + shows the location of the kit. I did however get nothing with the bike. Any ideas? |
you always used to get a tool kit, including a KTM bottle opener, sockets and spanner.
I got one in 2003 with a 950. come to think about it, I got one with a BM as well, and a Honda Dommie. Phone your dealer and ask, you should have got a check-list of the items which come with your new bike, and the tool kit should be listed there. |
yup
I got the little filler thingie and a handy little tool kit with my '06. I did not, however, get the tail bag that apparently was part of the '06 package in Canada. (I'm sure my homemade Pelican topbox is better and nicer) Go back and talk to your dealer for sure, by the way, did you get the hard cases with yours?:scooter:

Ass Kicking
I've been back to the dealer and done some ass kicking and strange enough out fell a tool kit.
It is however missing the filler pipe thingy. The drama goes on... |
i found the oil filler hose thingy to be fiddly and awkward to use
i use a small funnel with a length of tubing attached, to fill the frame reservoir i rest the funnel between grip and handguard |
I believe that it is a conscious act on the part of some dealers to not provide the oiling kit. It is also promulgated in some areas that doing the oil changes yourself will invalidate the warranty. The bits supplied are a messy way of doing the change anyway; so just worry about getting the hardware toolkit.
Seems there are support issues with KTM distribs most everywhere these days. |
