Hiya

We came across these guys in Hungary:

Auto-Welt Dunafoldvar KFT
Eloszallasi u. 50/A
H-7020 Dunafoldvar
Hungary

I only needed a new radiator cap but they were very helpful. Think they might be quite a new KTM dealer, didn't have card facilities (we bought a few other goodies as well) but one of the girls gave us a lift into town to a cash machine (it was probably a lot easier than trying to give us directions!).

ask for Jane, she knows a lot especial the old KTM bikes.

it's a small shop/workshop 3-4 people
used to be one of the 1st KTM dealer in the UK back in 1985 they use to import KTM bikes right from the Factory and still do, even before KTM officially swamped to the UK market in orange, they are not tight up with the official KTM dealership chain.... delivered 25 KTM 350 EXG 2-strokes to the MOD/SAS in 1990....
fast mail order even internationally, but you should know the exact part-no you need if you order by phone to avoid may getting a wrong item if they have to find it in the catalog's.
Otherwise Jane is very handy to supply "nice looking paperwork" for stolidity officials..... :thumbup1:

Richard's advice requires a small correction.

Tristar Motorcycles are sandwiched between Motorcycle City and Gorica Trading on the Al Aweer Road. The other details are correct.

I used these people recently on a trip across Europe for a scheduled 4500mile service on my 990 Adv.
I can't recommend them highly enough, very professional and very friendly.
Ask for Jan Tuma, he says his english isn't too good but it seemed fine to me.

great shop

I live in a very lucky area of the states. I am literaly down the road from KTM USA and am lucky enough to have known the Penton Brothers that first brought the bikes to the US. So I have many benifits in respect to riding KTMs
The shop that I have found to be the best is RT 20 motorsports. These guys rock!!
They are in Oberlin OHIO, on rt 20 south east of town. They can be reached at 1-440 -774-1101 AFTER 11:OO AM EASTER STANDARD TIME. They are also on the web. Ask for Jason. He can and will fix most anything on 2 wheels.:thumbup1:

Turkey; Best Mechanic in Istanbul

Hi,

I've just had my cam replaced on my 2006 KTM 640 Adventure after a catastrophic failure by a very competent mechanic. He mainly works on Jap bikes and BMW's and had never worked on a KTM before but took his time, understood how everything worked and used his seemingly infinite supply of contacts including KTM dealers, friends with KTM bikes and university lectureres to repair my bike before I head further East. It is now in better condition than when I left the UK. He now likes KTM bikes because of their ingenius simplicity.

He is located in a huge industrial estate where there is nothing but garages, bodywork shops and tool and parts shops. Whatever you need doing, can be welded, pressed, drilled or ground there!

All the people who work in the area are ridiculously friendly and the food from the small shops is cheap. Its much better than the touristy area of Istanbul, so much more genuine.

His address is Ataturk Oto Sanayi Sitesi 2. Kisim 9 Sk. No 294 Maslak, Istanbul.

KTM Bulgaria

I can report on a good workshop in Bulgaria. I needed to have the 10k service done for my 690 Enduro and they fitted me in on short notice, very friendly, nice and the service was officially registered with the KTM dealer.net (might be important for keeping your guarantee). They do speak German and English as well.

They are located right next to the highway (A1) in the near vicinity of Plovidv, Bulgaria.

GPS-Coordinates: N42 11.584 E24 39.519

(I don't have the exact address but you can find them online under KTM Bulgaria | Ready To Race) or just call Valentin 0899 11 69 89.)

They are also the official importer of KTM for Bulgaria and will probably be your best bet for locating any KTM specific parts as well as general motorbike stuff (clothing, tires, chains, ...).

P.S.: Just noticed that the place has already been reported here. I just leave the post anyway since by now I fixed most of the typos and one more positive report probably won't do any harm :)

KTM Waypoints

1 Attachment(s)
I am planning my trip from Dubai to Europe, starting next year. This post was started 2001 (!!) and searching it for workshops is, lets call it, exhausting. Beside many may have changed or don,t even exist any longer.
Therefore I decided to create a Garmin file with the latest locations. I picked a few workshops from the post in Bulgaria and Turkey but would appreciate a confirmation. The only waypoint I can guaranty is the one in Dubai.
To organize the correspondence I created a yahoo account where details can be sent to.
Ktm.waypoints@yahoo.com where you can send the details of all known workshops. I will add them in one file and keep posting from time to time.
Prefer to receive a Garmin file (at least the coordinates) with the waypoint and, if available contact numbers and e-mail addresses.
The file shall not be limited to Europe; worldwide addresses will be entered as well. I am sure that a suitable data base can be created with the support of all bikers.

Germany near the river Rhein south-east of Bonn/Cologne !!!

not a KTM dealer but the near by "Cycle Point West" and Royal Enfield representative, the sort of brilliant workshop that can fix any bike, rat-bikes, chopper, Enduro, racer you name it, very friendly guys real biker folk and there heartbeat still pumping petrol at the right place in there chest, sort of guys as we miss them out this days, I was able to do some work on my own in the yard, after a while working the time away in the midday heat they demanded me to push the bike on to there ramp in to the workshop, for comfort so we fixed my bike together in no time (in the mechanics lunch time brake) grate fun with cold beer... I'm very gratefully that I meed this guys... again thanks to you, you saved the day... and the trip...

some pictures and text in German of the trip here (it's the web page of my German riding buddy - he is a HUBBer too)
Schotter, Gräber und Gepäck – Generalprobe in Frankreich | buebo.de

Unfortunately the nearby KTM dealer in Sankt Augustin where I bought the parts I needed, was a right pain in the a**, didn't want to do the job and told me to come back in two weeks time !?
Bike was fully loaded on a trip to France and had no time to loose !
The SLS plug of my LC4 was gone and madly blowing, made a hell of a noise and no good to ride any longer in dense populated areas... luckily there where no cops on the roads, must have been at lunch ...

the best workshop I came across so far is this one:
