Air Jack Fitting to Exhaust

Hi Folks

I have an old Bushranger Airjack that I used to use with my Disco 2.

I now run a 2011 LR Defender and am prepping for a trip to South Maroc when I noticed that the funnel at the end of the jack is to small to fit over the end of the Def exhaust.:(

Has anyone encountered this prob and knows of a 'slick' solution?

I am thinking of getting my local garage to weld/vulcanize a further sleeve extn to the jack funnel.

I want to try and save the airjack as it has been really good in sand in the past.

getting an extension vulcanised on is probably your best bet Tony, you might be able to find a strip of material that they use to make inflatable boats (Zodiacs etc) and glue that on to extend the exhaust nozzle until it fits, it is fairly heat proof.

I suggest to use Airjack`s with an additional connection to an air compressor.

They are available at sample from the brands Horn & Bushranger (x-jack).

On newer cars it is not recommended to connect such a device to your exhaust system.

Try it out bevore, get too an device to reset an limb/service mode over ODB2..

With an air-compressor the handling is easier, you can adjust more sensitive, you don`t harm something on the exhaust system or trigger some sensitive sensors.
