Land Cruiser 80 series vs Toyota Hilux DC Cape Town to UK
We are planning on buying a UK registered vehicle for an overland trip from Cape Town to the UK in 2013. A double cab Hilux seems to fit our needs (we are a family of 4), but we have been advised that reselling an outfitted Hilux in the UK would be difficult as most people go for a Land Cruiser. Any comments or suggestions?

Umm I'd take the landcruiser, easier for parts across Africa and more comfortable over long distance. Down side is they use more fuel. Both landcruisers and hilux sell for a lot of money here in the uk as long as they are diesel. Petrols are sold cheaper for export mainly. If you offered it for sale on the hubb you should get some interest.

Thanks for your input. I haven't seem many outfitted Hilux's on HUBB, just wondering what kind of market there would be in the UK for one.

Hard to say, I guess you can look on e bay for a standard hilux the same age and miles this will get you close. Expedition spec landcruiser 80s sell for a lot of money. When will you be arriving in the uk? We may be looking for another support vehicle
