TLC now sold in India
I believe this is a new development (as opposed to special imports for the rich) so could be useful for spares.

Great for 200 series spares; not so hot for spares for previous stuff that was never sold there.
Can't imagine what the import duties will be, either - is it still 100% for cars in India? |
jesuuus have you guys looked at the price they are being sold at?
RS8772156 works out at £132911.45 at current exchange rate.they still work out for the super rich. |
I think you are right. Nothing to get excited about after all then.

What amazed me in Pakistan was why there were so many TLC 80 serieses there - pretty close to 1 in 10 of all vehicles from what I could see. Some Toyotas - like the Corolla - are assembled there so no import duty, but the LC was always imported. How DID they afford to pay the import duty? And it may well have been even higher than 100% when the 80 was current in the 1990s.
