Flooding In Mexico
This may not be the right site to post but as you probably know the State of Tabasco and parts of Chiapas are severly flooded. The paper today said 1 million people's homes have been flooded and 100,000 are walking the streets because all the shelters are full. Any help in the form of monetary donations would alleviate some of the problem. I don't know how you can donate from outside Mexico but I guess you can get info if you contact the International Red Cross.
Corruption is a problem in Mexico and like in most things not all the money will get to the right people but even if only some gets there it will help. Sorry this is not travel or bike related. I will post some bike stuff in the future. Thanks Garry PS If anybody comes to Mex City we are always willing to put them up and show them around. |
Some quick research shows me that donations can be made through the Mexican Red Cross/Cruz Roja Mexicana website at
http://www.cruzrojamexicana.org.mx Anyone know of any call for volunteers? I know there's probably no use for traveling motorcycle superheros, but I can still fill sandbags and drive a boat. Ideas? Mitch PS It's weird because I was JUST there, in Chiapas. I must have missed the worst of it by days. |
