Any little known places in Iran?
Any of you good people advise on less well known places to visit in Iran?
Something different maybe? Thanks. Dave. |
Good thing is Iran isn't exacly a tourist horde yet. So basically there isn't much places you see loads of foreigners, maybe except the very highlights like the Persepolis, Imam square etc., and even there you see visitors are mostly made out of locals.
Couple of things coming into my mind:
If you're interested to visit Iran nomads, I can give you a contact in Esfahan who can organize it. Ride safe, Margus |
Ateshoni: In the heat of the day - Middle East - World - Travel - smh.com.au
However, as the web site has been taken over by one of those horrible links-only sites I can't say whether it's still running. |
Thanks.
Cheers Guys.

Its situated in the desert and have to ask people for direction since there is no sign plate for it .... Ahvaz....The only Zigurat which still stands is there (Choko Zambil) ... definetly very interesting .... (sorry i couldnt load the pictures - exceed the limit ) |

Masuleh
The only place I would add to what has been mentioned already, is the mountain village of Masuleh, near Tabriz. Like the whole area, it is culturally very Turkish, cool weather at altitude and has some atmospheric chaikhanas, where alcohol is quite readily available. Check my blog if you want more details - motociclistascondoscojones
Hope this helps and all the best, Cheers, Honesy. |
Abyaneh is great.
Margoon Waterfalls (Will add GPS point) are a nice lunch stop on a sunny day, and pretty mud village before them. |
Thanks!
Brilliant!
Thanks very much to all! Dave. |
