Bandar Lengeh
Has anybody been to this neck of the woods? Any good for starting off in Iran? That's where the boat appears to be going to next week.
Ta, Adam |
The coast is fairly sparsely populated and the sights are more hidden. The scenery is attractive. Have a look at my site: http://beddhist.googlepages.com/iran2 for some pictures. At this time of the year the weather should be nice, whereas inland it may still be a little chilly.
Please let us know how you get on with the ferry. Is the car ferry really no longer sailing? Cheers, Peter. |
ferry
I'm not sure if the car ferry operates - the shipping company just told me I was going on the passenger ferry. It left from Dubai Port but they said it would soon cease to operate from there and would move to Jebel Ali towards Abu Dhabi. I'm not sure if this is fact or someone surmising. The water level was too low when I got into Lengeh so I had to sleep on the boat till the tide came in.nNo problems and the crew were really helpful.

Yes, the same thing hapened to us at Lengeh. waited 3 hours for the tide to rise to get the bike out of the boat, did customs the next day. people very friendly and helpfull, but it still took 4 hours to do customs, so plan a full day for this. Road between Lengeh and Lar is stunning and very good. In Lar there is two huge mosques to see, and has a nice relax feeling to the town.
We were told the the ferrie we went on was the last one that operates betwen Sharjah and Bandar e Lengeh, and in future the same ferrie will operate between Dubai and Bandar e Lengeh. Johan |
lar - bandar lengeh
Hi; We plan on taking the ferry in Bandar Lengeh. You say the road between Lar + Bandar is stunning. Can you let me know which route you took?
Much obliged< Willem |

There is a road that goes direct between Bandar e Lenge and Lar. It is a good tar road that winds it;s way through some rugged desert hills etc. I'm not sure of the route nr, as I gave my map away. |
