Nothing surprises me about them. When my friend's Nissan Patrol was stolen from Sharjah Corniche several years ago, I listened to a uniformed policeman ask his plain clothed superior in Arabic: "A car stolen on the Corniche; is that possible?" :(

Keep looking and send the chassis details to Dessertstrom in Saudi. Anything you do helps you to feel less helpless.

Suzuki Bandit 1200S stolen

I,m new to this site and just had my bike stolen.

A red Suzuki Bandit 1200S, 1999. this was stolen 3 weeks ago from the rear of my apartment block in UAQ, as usual, chained up etc etc.

Must have been lifted up and onto a truck, same old story, useless cops etc etc.

Same as everyone, I have had great trips on her All Europe, Morocco etc 48,000 miles without even a puncture, fantastic fun now gone.:funmeterno::(

I'm really sorry, Al. The UAE is definitely not a safe place to park a bike and you can expect no action from the police. The only solution is to keep them out of sight, indoors if possible, although that's not always possible.

Hope it turns up. Stephan

Advice required

Good afternoon all

I am attempting to ship a R1 from UK to the UAE
Are you able to give me advice on what documents i require? Do i need to complete a bike test here? or is that covered under a UK driving licence when you convert to a UAE one? Is it okay to ride it on UK plates to the registration place on SZR to get it registered?
Sorry for all the questions

Thanks

Re:Need Advice

Hi there

am note sure about the doucments, but the shipping agent must know it all.
its better to register the bike in Dubai, coz i think if you ship it with UK plate number you will not be able later to register it in Dubai (the experts may advice on the correct info)
