Bike transport from Jordan/Israel to Turkey/Greece

Hey! I have a bit of a logistical problem.

I'm traveling down to Jordan (for sure) and Israel (if I must) over the next two months. I want to go home (USA) for Christmas but then will come back to Turkey to start my job on January 5th. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some ways that I might be able to get my bike back to Turkey (or maybe even Thessaloniki) so I can pick it up instead of coming back to Jordan and driving all the way back up to Istanbul.

The problem with driving back up is that by the time I get back my visa for Syria will have expired so I will have to get another very expensive one. Not to mention its a LONG WAY!

I would rather not go into Israel (because I'm scared of the stamp) but figure that would be the only place I could ship it. Does anyone know if there are shipping lines between israel and Istanbul?

Thanks!!!!!! desperate for help!

Aloha Tybalt!

I think its the 6th time I'm with this info on the HUBB

NO PROBLEM AT ALL!

For now the situation for thoes who want to leave Israel from Haifa by sea:
1) There is a ship twice a week Monday and Thursday. It is NOT recomended to go yourself with the ship. It is an old rusted, f***ed up not human experience.
You can call 'Rosenfeld" who operate the ship: 972-4-8613613
Price for this morning is 250Euro to Athens for the bike only. You need to add 150Nis port tax in Haifa and another 30Euro tax it Athens (Pereus). It will thake the bike two and a half days to be there.
2) Get ready, after half a day in Haifa port you will understand the meaning of patience
You take a flight to Athens. As for this morning El Al one way price from Tel-Aviv to Athens is 210$. But you can find a cheaper one.
If you want to go to Cyprus or Turkey. you can ask Rosenfeld about it.
You can go to Cyprus and from there to take a day ferry to the Turkish continent (And get ready to pay a lot of "Taxes" as a kind of a punishment for those that pass from the Greeck side of Cyprus to the Turkish one).
Ask them also on a ship from Cyprus to Istanbul - don't think there is one.
So, think you will have to ship to Pereuys/Athens and find a place to store it there.
And about the stamp in your passport it is a problem only if you intend to go to Syria with this passport.

Ride with care

Thanks Yoni,

I did see #5 - but thanks for reposting! I saw only Israel to Greece lines when I checked out Rosenfield. I have wrote them to ask via contact info on their website.

I'm very interested in sending it from Jordan, but I really can't think of a way. Is there a train which would do it?

I also see several lines that do Israel to Cyprus and hen Cyprus to Turkey, but if I'm not on the ship can I have the bike transfered so that it ends up in Turkey?

Thanks again!

It will be very very complicated to send your bike from Jordan to Greece or Turkey, it will have to be airlifted and the paper work will take ages (Jordan's only sea port is in Aqaba going south to the Red sea). There are NO trains that run from Jordan to Israel or from the border to Haifa. As I know and experienced the regulations of border passing in the ME, i can't think of a way you can send your bike from Cyprus to Turkey without escorting it yourself, and remember that from Cyprus you will reach the south shores of Turkey, not Istanbul, it will take you more than a day to ride to Istanbul.
So as I recomended before, think you will have to cross the boredr from Jordan to Israel, ride to Haifa and choose from the two routes, the one via Cyprus or send your bike to Greece, then fly there take it out from the ship, store it in Athens, fly home and then come to Athens take your bike and ride it to Istanbul.

WOW what and adventure :)

I received after only three days an answer by email from Rosenfeld! It is not possible (anymore) to join your bike from Israel to Cyprus/Greece or viceversa. They only transport the motorcycle. So you have to fly to Greece or Cyprus. Price is now Euro 255.

That's to bad, I was looking forward on spending three days with my bike and a book on a boat.
Thanks for the information Nespico.

Could someone provide me with some information whether is possible to ship my motorbike from Turkey to Jordan. I am trying to avoid going across Israel to avoid issues entering Suadi and Iran.

Thanks
