True, it's often nice to eat in various places, to meet people and feel the atmosphere of that too. Well, I think we both agree on this whole subject, it's nice to do both from time to time.

Yes, when ever possible :)

A remote wild place at the Dead sea was the best with billion dollar view to the sea, one time local shepherds found us too in Jordan's wilderness before it got dark, but looks like they have nothing against camping on their land, at least they didn't had. Good memories.

...and then a bus full of japanese people arrived with caps on their heads :-)


This sounds as a very nice place indeed. Got a waypoint of it? You were there by Motorbike?

I'm an oldschool navigator - common sense, a good map and a compass are the real adventure for me. Seen guys with 2 or 3 GPSes on board the bike stopping by and asking me for directions :)

This is the place we were under the Dead Sea sunrise. Israel on the other side already enjoys the sunrise, ours Jordanian was to come.

Jerash: Hadrians Gate Hotel with parking in small garage directly opposite entrance to ruins. The hotel owner help us when my bike died to get to Amman. N32 16.335 E35 53.501

Wadi Mujib: Trajan Hotel. stunning view over valley, dump of a restuarant. watch the wind...don't camp too close to the edge ;-)

You are right as an vegetarians but Margus too as an animal meat eater.
In Syria and Lebanon, food is very very cheap and delicious. Sure better than eatin macaroni or egg at campsite IMHO.
