Entering Egypt without Carnet?
Hi,
My travel plans this summer are Syria and Jordan, we have about 5/6 weeks over there, but I'm not sure if we have enough to do in Jordan and Syria. The thing is that I don't want to pay for the Carnet de Passage in Europe, if I'm not sure we have time to enter Egypt so it would be a waste of money (150 Euros for me @ the ADAC) and not entering Egypt at all. This leaves me with two questions: 1. Has anyone experience with entering Egypt and arrange the carnet over there? I read in the Wikipedia this is possible nowadays, you pay for the deposit over there. 2. Is there enough to see and do in Syria and Jordan for a 5 weeks total? Thanks, Jurgen |
You can easily spend 5 or 6 weeks between Syria and Jordan and still have places left to explore. Take a week and properly see Damascus. Go to Palmerya and Crac de Chevaliers.

Hi Jeremy, thanks for your answer. I'll take it into account to explore Damascus thoroughly. The other places were on the list too.
It's good to hear we will have enough to do then in these weeks, thanks! Jurgen |

Well the question was: Can we enter Egypt without a Carnet? I would be very much interested in this.
