Ferry from Pakistan to Oman

I have heard mumurs from various parties that a link exists in this form, i don't know where from/where to/how much etc but wonder if it exists.

A search on here seems rather fruitless which suggests that it either doesnt exist or its easy enough that noone need mention it. Secondly, Lonely Planet Pakistan does not seem to think it exists. Just quickly, idealy would like to transit through the port at Muscat.

Any ideas.

Joe,
I sent you an email, this is what I found
http:// Karachi-Dubai ferry trip to cost $549 -DAWN - National; August 25, 2006 and a story about 700 Pakistanies being repatriated by ferry from Oman to Karachi.
No more other info at the moment.
Cheers

I looked into it a year or so ago. Unless you have a Canadian passport, why not go through Iran? Cheaper and nicer.

I intend to ride home through Iran, and didn't want the visa hassle twice unless i can get a double entry.

Double entry sounds like a hard thing to get, although they do exist. Once you've got a visa in your passport, the second one is easier to obtain and I think you get waived the 10 day wait.

Kevin is right (Hey Kevin!), getting your second visa in Pakistan is no hassle, see my post here: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...e-border-25270

Hey Lars, where are you hanging out these days? I'm back in Canada.. for now.

Last I heard no freight (ie bikes) or one-way passages were allowed on these cruise ships. Hopefully that will change.

Kevin,
I am also traveling on CAD passport. Is the situation really that bad for us Canadians? I am crossing from Africa to Yemen ,Oman, and was hoping to take the ferry to Iran, applying for the visa in Addis Ababa next week.

***Edit- I just read the other posts on Iran. Hmmm..Things are getting interesting.***

Cheers,
Rene

No further plans yet though. We'll see.

All the best
