Hurghada - Sharm El-Sheik Ferry Running?
 

I am riding from Belfast, RSA to Belfast, NI and am currently stopped in Addis Ababa. (Blog is at: belfast2belfastbybike.com )

My initial route was to go through Sudan to Saudi and then north to Jordan. Saudi seems difficult enough not to be worth the effort, so I’m going to go through Egypt instead, inspite of the extra expense.

My plan is to ride from Addis to Hurghada, ferry to Sharm El-Sheik, ride to Nuweiba, and finally ferry to Aqaba.

Can anyone confirm whether the Hurghada to Sharm El-Sheik ferry is running?

Will be following your answers and blog as I will be doing same this autumn (albeit Namibia start and up the East, ending London I hope)...had a fruitless visit to Saudi embassy in London re a transit visa so interested in alternatives. Good luck!

I was in Hurgharda early this year and was told by the dive boat opperators the ferry had been stopped after the Russian plane was downed.
