jordanian border crossing
ok, i already contributed that information on the last post, but it's probably worth to put it in a seperate thread as well:
we got into jordan from egypt without a single problem. ferry tickets were issued at nuweiba at 52 dollars (bike + biker) without a problem. in aqabah customs simply wanted an authorization from the police which was promtly granted. they asked us how many days we wanted to stay in the country and we said three, which is very cheap. i'll probably stay five days here and see how much they'll charge me on exit to syria. i'll keep you updated. so, i guess that's quite good news... cheers, steven ------------------ online diary and travel info from the road in africa: west coast to cape town east coast to zurich www.contrast.cx |
i overstayed my motorbike permit for two days and had no problems, whatsoever, at the border.
they simply asked me to pay 5 dinars (probably the usual fee) and let me go. cheers, steven ------------------ online diary and travel info from the road in africa: west coast to cape town east coast to zurich www.contrast.cx |

I overstayed of 10 days for the permit of the bike, and my visa was expired for 3 days ..all i paid was 5 dinars for the motorbike and 1.5 dinars per day for the visa, no problems at all ...
So i can confirm that traveling in Jordan by bike is no problem at all ... cheers and safe travels mauro |
Hi
why were you both irresponsible enough to deliberately outstay your permits/visa's? Just go to a polce station in any large town and they will grant an extension for free/a nominal sum. The more often people outstay their permits/visas the more likely the are to tighten up, and the heavier the fines will become. ------------------ ChrisC |
very simple: i didn't know about the police station.
besides. after three years in africa the police station is usually the last place i want to show up voluntarily. but i guess you're right. i'll include the information on my website, cheers, steven ------------------ online diary and travel info from the road in africa: west coast to cape town east coast to zurich www.contrast.cx |
