AFAIK there are regular freighter connections from Muscat via (at least) Karachi to India.

I didn't reply to this earlier because I can't be specific but you can certainly ship to India from Dubai. Dubai is full of shipping agents who'll take your money.

I've just spoken to an Indian colleague who confirms it's doable but mentioned the potentially awful bureacracy (and cost) at Indian customs. I'd try for an Iranian visa as a first step.
