currently in aleppo syria, headed to jordan, ferry to egypt, and south. think the knobby will make sudan, but would rather pick up a new tyre before then. any suggestions on where to buy? thanks in advance dave |
Hey Dave,
I didn't see much in the way of tires in Syria or Jordan that would meet your needs. Depends on how picky you are for tires, but Cairo should have street tires in your size, not sure about dual sport like Anakees or Tourances. There is a mechanic that has serviced quite a few foreigner bikes and the riders that hang out his shop will be able to take you to where they buy their gear. If you are picky, you can always order a brand new set of whatever you want and have them shipped in time for you to pick up when you get to Cairo. If you go that direction, beware courier charges, customs fees and duties. After Cairo, your selection is not going to get any better in Khartoum or Addis. Next realistic place with some options is going to be Nairobi. Hope that helps. |
can anyone suggest a shipping address in cairo...?

there is a shop called tamerco you can find a set of michellin tyres , tourances are a bit rare in egypt but sometimes are available, if you want to change the tyres or do any services you can call mohamed anwar 0101454849, or call me @0122165814 for directions

Try the Honda Motorcycle showroom in Jordan - Amman. They have a service workshop right next door. If they don't have what you need, they might give you directions. Ask for Ahmed +96265330265
