sorry, coming to this thread a little late so info more aimed at those that might find themselves in a similar position. It looks like you have insurance, which is a definite plus. always contact your insurance ASAP, they can refer you to suitable clinics/hospitals in the area. Also, there is a process they have to go through to make a guarantee of payment which takes some time, so better to get it started sooner rather than later.
Fractured clavicles are not usually operated on unless they are really bad, which unfortunately means you have to wait for them to fix themselves, which takes about 6 weeks depending on your age and general health, but it can be a lot longer, it's not a nice injury to have! Good luck. |
Recovering back home in Australia
Just thought Id send a small update. Im recovering back in Australia after having to have surgery on my collarbone. Turns out I smashed it in 6 places so did a number on it.
Operation went well back here in Australia and H now have some extra weight to transport when I return. ( titanium plate and screws) So I hoping to return to my London to Cape Town trip by June all going well. Cheers for the help from those that posted information. Patrick |
