Camp site El Ayoun
Does anybody know if the campsite before El Ayoun (20 kms or so if memory serves me correctly) that was owned by a Rwandan born Belgian is still open? I quite liked the place and am headed that way tomorrow. There's no mention of it on Saharaoverland and it's 11 years since I've been. Thanks

Camp Bedouin?
Hello,
I guess you mean the former "Le Roi Baudouin", situated at the Sebkha Oum Dba? It has changed owners since (also Belgian) and is called Camp Bedouin now. It's surely up and running and a very nice place to stay indeed. Look for the sign at your right hand side after passing the village of Daoura. GPS: N27° 27.717' W13° 03.115'. Cheers, Raf |
Thanks. Yep, still there but the owners were in Belgium so it was closed. Just a Moroccan teenager holding the fort. Generally though, it's open. I'm sure I could have put my tent up but had no food etc.
