Camping in Morocco

Hey guys, so, camping wild or otherwise in Morocco, tips, advice, popular places, resources. All would be appreciated. Haven't checked iOverlander yet but assume there's info there. Many thanks in advance guys.

You don't say whether you are on bike or 4x4. If you are on a bike, camping gear is bulky and heavy, so inexpensive hotels are normally my first choice.

Probably 75% of formal campsites in Morocco are designed for 'camping cars', the French words for motorhomes, so are effectively hard standing car parks with no grass, and very difficult to drive in tent pegs.

I always carry some form of emergency shelter !!

When I've been exploring remote areas I've wild camped in many places, but as I'm normally solo I take care with location and safety—don't pitch the tent right away, make a cup of coffee whilst I suss things out, and if necessary move location.

If you provide more detail of what you are after I might be able to offer some thoughts.

Apologies, yes on a bike. Not my 1st rodeo as have been camping for decades but never been to Africa and Morocco will be new ground. Thanks for the advice!
