First night in Chef - any recommendations?
A few of us heading out on bikes to arrive 4th March. As it will have been a long day, can anyone recommend a reasonable and inexpensive first night stopover in Chefchoauen? Thanks,

Hotel Rif
I stayed in the Hotel Rif, on the southeastern side of the Medina ( 29 Rue Hassan II) last March: from (a dodgy) memory, I think 3 of us paid about Dh 120 each for a clean, characterful shared room with basic ensuite, and breakfast. No parkling for the bikes, but we found a guardian nearby for a few Dh. The LP says they have a booze licence, but we weren't offerred. The fact that the place was full of flags and cops because the King was in town the next day may have had a bearing on things...Chatty, opinionated and fluent English-speaking hotel manager gave an interesting view from the inside of Moroccan society. LP gives their phone no as 039 986982. Let us know if you try it: we're planning on heading back that way in mid-May this year.
