Guidance sought...
To get away from Christmas in the UK we plan to spend it in Morocco however we have never been there before.
We want to drive/ferry down to a southern port and the ship over to Morocco. Can anyone who has done this before recommend a route and an itinerary in Morocco? We are looking at 2 to 3 weeks and we're driving an old Disco. Thanks. |
Head south!
It'll be cold in the Atlas so you could have a motorway day from TangerMed to get down the coast. If you're camping there are several campsites on the coast - depends what time you get through customs as to how far you'll get. You could continue to Essaouria/Agadir maybe and the head inland to Taroudant or through the Anti Atlas if weather permits to Tafaroute or Tata. Then you could pick up pistes to Foum Zguid, Mhamid, Zagora, Merzouga, Figuig and tool around the desert for a couple of weeks. Lots of cheap hotels and auberges who'll be very pleased to see you! Happy trails, Peter |
That's fantastic Pete, thank you very much!

Hi mate.... Overland tonka here from the Surf forum. We just missed catching up with each other this year before we headed off on our RTW trip.
Maroc has to be one of the easiest places we have been to. There is another guy in a surf that is heading over there this xmas from the uk..i could put you in touch. We are in Crete for the winter... send us a P.M on here or hook up via Facebook at ... Kevin Heike .. Cheers K&H |
What Pete Said :D
heres a link with some suggestion from me but on a much tighter schedule http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...e-advice-78910 Tanger Med is the port of choice for ease. Mountains will be cold but if the weathers good very scenic with a light snow covering Head down the coast, drive the Plage Blanch and then take a week heading east across the desert? |
