Insurance - Off Road / Morocco - Your experiences
 

Looking for some advice from the HUBB forum on this one.

Heading to Morocco later this month for a mixture of on and off road travel (Pistes and trails rather than dunes/sand).

Curious to know if anyone has advice on insurance companies that provide travel insurance that covers off road biking? Also interested to hear anyone's experience of making a claim from an injury/repatriation following a spill...

So far as 'normal' motorcycle insurance is concerned, you can buy that in Morocco at the same place that you go through customs and immigration when you get off the ferry. It's standard liability insurance (nothing else other than liability) that you would get when travelling in any country outside of the EC. That much is easy.

It sounds to me like you are looking for insurance for your body, more so than insurance for your motorcycle. I think your best bet for that would be to investigate traveller's medical insurance policies that are available from travel agents in your home country. Read the policy and see what the exceptions are. Typically, such policies will exclude activities such as skydiving or vehicle racing. I don't know if the exclusions are granular enough to exclude off-road vehicle operations... you will have to do your own research on that.
