Looking to purchase and sell bike at end of trip, any advice?
Hello! I will be joining you all in Morocco (specifically Rabat) early October. I was looking to buy a starter 250, most likely if possible a Ninja 250. Does anyone know if this is possible and how much around it would be considering it would be an import?
I'm not looking to buy anything new but I do want to know that I am getting my money's worth since I am a little novice at this whole buying and selling. Are there any restrictions in terms of the government or regulations I should be aware of? I have my IDP and my license. I am totally new to this whole thing so go easy on me. Just looking for an adventure :) Any advice at all is much appreciated! C |

As it happens I will be staying there for 6th months so I am totally okay with hanging around for weeks. Do I just go to the local station and apply for a resident permit?
I will need the bike more so in January as that is when I will be going on my big trip. Thank you for your information! |
Bit more involved than that—you'll need a Moroccan bank account, a criminal records check, and a pile of other stuff, see https://www.gov.uk/guidance/living-in-morocco
Before you throw yourself into that route check what else you might need other than the 'carte sejour'. |
Thanks for that resource, Tim! I'll take a further look into it.

Hey Tim,
One more question if that's alright. You seem to be the most knowledgable in this camp so just want to pick your brain about one more idea: I'll only be staying for 6 months so I am not a permanent resident. If I were to get a friend of the family that lives here to be registered to the bike with my name attached would that work? I am not looking to get a resident's permit and nowhere does it say I need to Moroccan license if I am just visiting status. It's just the whole getting the bike part. Any thoughts? |
