Lowrance with ExpertGPS
 

Hi all, I live in the UK and am new to the forum.

I plan to go on my first overland trip for two weeks to Morocco in April 2017. I need advice about GPS maps of the country. I am considering purchasing a Lowrance HDS and it looks like an ExpertGPS map of Morocco is available.

I would welcome comment, from users, on map software of Morocco for Lowrance. Many thanks,

A quick read says that it is a free download, both program and map.

You then need to do a comparison between that map data, OSM data and maybe Oalfs ...

Discovered https://www.gpsbabel.org/ this morning. Looks like it's possible to transfer Google Earth points to Lowrance usr files.

I've managed to convert Open Street Map to AT5 files to use on my Lowrance Elite 7 Ti using Lowrance Insight Map Creator software.

Now, to see how to convert some topographical overlay files ...

Hi iv'e just come back from morocco and all a used is 'Sygic' its free and does not use data allowance on my smart phone has a detailed map of the whole of morocco and even was able to get me around fez medina on foot ,i stopped using my garmin as i found it better.
