I had planned to buy insurance at the port when I arrived, but as I took the first boat in the morning to Tanger, the insurance office had not opened when I arrived, and would not open for two more hours. I figured I'd buy insurance in Essaoira, but didn't see an insurance shop, so I figured I'd get insurance in Marrakech, but couldn't find a shop. Ten days later I left Morocco without getting insurance, and not because I didn't want to buy some...

It was too early when I left Chefchouan for offices to be open. Tried one place in Fez and they didn't do it and again couldn't be ar$ed to look further. Nowhere in Errachidia sells insurance for foreign bikes (although they do for cars....). I spent 3 hours walking around in the rain trying every broker there was. Eventually made it to Ouazazatte and Peter at Bikershome Offroad Centre sent me to a local AXA office where it was very easy to get bike insurance. cheers Chris |

:welcome:
Hi everybody, first of all sorry in advance for my English, I'm going ahead to plan my first raid in Morocco, 99% is already ready but an important thing is missing: Green Card As far as you know, it should be compulsory to have it on board in order to avoid eventual troubles with the local Police, in my country ITALY, there isn't any possibility to obtain it. So i would like to cross by ferry from Spain to Morocco in Almeria to Nador or Melilla instead Algeciras to Tangeri. For sure, in Tangeri i can find someone release to me this kind of Green card, but I'm not sure the same in Nador or Melilla can anyone help me? Thanks in advance Pietro :scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter::scooter::scoo ter::scooter: |
