My buddy Rick got to St Louis (Senegal) today in a Discovery and says "there are more potholes and dust than LAST January!".

if i was to arrive in dakar with no carnet would it be possible to get out of customs and then ride back to the uk? i would be looking at doing this trip around may-june will it be to hot then ? would it be ok to ride this solo and how cheep could i expect to do it for.thanks for any help
