Morocco- Tagmout to Assa
I'm just making up rough plans for a trip to Morocco.
Got a quick question. Getting from Tagmout to Assa is it possible without using tarmac roads too much? The road seems to go a fair bit out of the way to get there, is it possible to go off-piste and make our own way there? The distances don't look too difficult although it does look rather hilly and rocky, does anyone have any experience or tips for me? |
Assuming you mean the Tagmout north of Assa (MA4) then I don't think cross country routes are possible in this area - look how even MA4 weaves around the ranges to get from Fask.
You could cut out some road by heading for the highway at MA4/KM22 (as in the MO book), turn left at the highway then right, south for Tadait and take MW4 or better still MW5 around to Assa. But from Aoueinat T it's tar back to Assa. MA and MW are great areas IMO. Ch |
Thanks Chris.
I think I'll take your advice and go along the MW5 route. I heading for Assa to go down the M13 to Smara. Both your MO and your SO books have been really helpful, thanks for your efforts. |
