I think I stopped at the same ZiZ station as IanC back in '79. Modern pumps, attendant came out with a 3 foot handle. On fumes by then - I'd have kissed his feet for a few litres if needed.. Incidentally, beach camping along there sometimes results in waking up with scorpions attracted by body heat.

In a time of little actual activity thanks to Tim for this nostalgic thread(four fuc...)doh.
In the noughty nineties i did a lot of offroading in the Wahiba Desert in Oman.We all shared our jerry cans and if one car(never more)had to be left behind,we aways found a way of getting it out within a day or two without being fired from our jobs.Happy memories and happy days:D
