4 explosions in Smara yesterday killed 1 and injured 3. Suspected Polisario projectiles but limited info at the moment.

This development aside, would Samara generally be considered a safe/worthwhile place to visit (in future)?

Safe yes, worthwhile? then no. But it’s a useful place to refuel and stock up on supplies.

Another Polisario rocket attack last night, this time about 6km from Aousserd. No casualties reported.

Along with US in 2020 (under Trump) and Spain in 2022, France now agrees on autonomy for the WS under Moroccan sovereignty.

Many other countries are doing the same with talk of the UK coming round to the 'autonomy plan' too.
Hard to think anything will change soon for travel, more to do with investment.
