Tarifa - Motorcycle friendly accommodation before the ferry.

Yes I know it's in Spain.. But it's the European gateway to North Africa/Morocco.

So, before getting the ferry over, is there anywhere motorcycle friendly to stay in Tarifa.

Anywhere for last minute repairs or adjustments to your bike etc ??

Cheers, Ted

Hi Ted
Not in Tarifa but great hotel at first entrance to docks/ ferry port in Algeceira . Secure underground parking. Hôtel Mirador . Think it was about 40 euro for the room , easy crossing to Tangier Med

If you are camping, there is a place where I stopped about 2 miles out of town by the sea on the road to Cadiz. It had all the facilitates. about 17E a night for bike tent and person. It is within a pine woodland. It seemed very biker friendly, lots of different types there.

Hostal Tarifa :thumbup1:

Don't be misled by the name. It's a proper hotel.

Stayed there last October (2015) .. Good location. Clean & modern'ish. Lift [elevator] up to the bedroom floors, which makes a difference if you're carting lots of gear .. especially at my age!

At least a couple of beer bars up and down the street.

Best bit is that there is secure on-site underground parking; access is around the rear-side of the building.

El Beaterio Tarifa

Nice Hotel built in an old monastery within the historic city.
Nice doubles, apartments and dorms. Perfect view of the Strait of Gibraltar and Africa from the roof terrace. If moto parking should´t be possible on the premises over night, the owner Endo offers a locked garage next to the historic gate/main entering road, some 5min walking distance to the Hotel and 2min drive to the ferry port.

If to stay outside the historic city, I´d recommend
banti tarifa • soul food : music : guest house : good friends
direct at the N340 westwards.

Direct at the beach, little further westwards, there is a beach bar called Tangana. Next to it, they rent out some cabins/mobile homes. Very basic, but the location right at the Atlantik is quite something and the Tangana-Bar is a nice place to chill out, eat, wi-fi etc…

Next to it - 50m, across a small river - is a wild camping spot, frequented all year round by gypsysurfdudes. So expect a little mess but friendly atmosphere.

Concerning moto service: If the fuel station right into town isn´t of any help, lot´s of tour operator are along the main road towards the old gate. You´ll find recommendations for workshops there.

There´s also a german guy named Stefan from http://www.dengs-funsport.de. He rents out various accommodations (also with garage/secured off street parking and knows Tarifa like the back of his hand. He surely can tell, where to go for repairs and parts.

Enjoy.
